Meet the Team: Q&A with Alyssa Trifone

When you meet Alyssa, it’s easy to see why she fits right in at NPP. She joined the team in March 2025, intending to learn everything she could about animal nutrition, not just for her own pets, but to better support the pet parents in her community. We sat down with her to learn more about what inspired her to join NPP, what she loves most about working with customers and their pets, and the pets who keep her household running.

Tell us about your pets!

Alyssa and her wife share their home with several pets who keep life interesting:

  • Pappy: their senior dachshund mix
    Shanti: a 15-year-old calico
    Bubba: an 8-year-old Persian
    Chicken Little: a 3-year-old tabby
    Spencer: a 5-year-old bunny
Atticus and Chuck: their beloved guinea pigs

“My animals are my whole world. I love spending time with them and being able to care for animals is an honor to me. Small animals in particular have always held a special place in my heart. Previously, I kept rats as pets, a highly intelligent, curious little animal!”

What inspired you to join NorthPoint Pets?

“A deep love for animals, and a desire to learn from the best of the best about animal nutrition.”

What’s one thing about pet nutrition or care she wishes every pet parent knew?

“A bag of food should last no more than a month after this point; it starts to spoil! Also, always store pet food in the original packaging, in an airtight container.”

What’s her must-have product or hidden gem at NorthPoint Pets, and why?

“Goat milk! My animals LOVE it and it’s very nutritionally dense. Especially my senior cat! It helps her stay extra hydrated, gives her extra nutrients and gets her even more excited for dinner time.”

What does she love most about working with NorthPoint customers and their pets?

“Anyone who truly cares about their pets and wants to do well by them is top-notch in my opinion! NorthPoint customers so clearly want what is best for their pets, and it shows in how happy their pets are when they join their parent for a visit!”

How does she spend her time outside of NorthPoint Pets?

“Reading, sitting outside with my wife, caring for my growing houseplant collection, and writing poetry.”

Alyssa’s compassion, curiosity, and dedication to lifelong learning make her an invaluable part of the NorthPoint Pets team. She’s often behind the scenes keeping things running smoothly, but she’s always ready to lend a hand or share her knowledge when you catch her around the store.
