Why We’re Expanding: A Note From Nicci
If you’ve been in the store recently, you’ve probably seen the dust, heard the construction noise, or noticed us knocking down a wall. It’s true, we’re expanding. And not just a little. By the end of this month, NorthPoint will triple in size.
But this isn’t about getting bigger for the sake of being big. It’s about building something better.
For the last ten years, we’ve operated with a clear mission: to give pet parents access to the education, support, and products they actually need, not what the industry wants to sell them. We’ve never chased gimmicks, trends, or buzzwords. Instead, we’ve stayed focused on what works, even when that meant swimming upstream. That approach shapes everything we do, including how we choose what ends up on our shelves. Here’s a closer look.
Over time, something amazing happened. You—our community—showed up. You asked smart questions. You trusted us with your pets. You told your friends. And slowly, we outgrew our space.
So, Why Now?
Because the way we serve you and your pets has outgrown our current four walls.
More Space, New Services, Same Mission
We’re adding dedicated space for dog training, private nail trims, pet photography, and a few other surprises we’re keeping under wraps (until the grand opening). At the same time, we’re also redesigning the entire layout to reduce stress for reactive pets, improve traffic flow, and make your experience better every time you walk through our door.
This isn’t just a retail expansion—it’s a deeper commitment to doing what we’ve always done: giving you the knowledge and tools to make the best decisions for your pet, without the noise.
A Personal Milestone
On a personal note, this expansion is happening at a pretty wild time for me. After years of work, I’m finishing my PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on pet nutrition and metabolomics. That research has shaped how I think about everything we do at NPP. And I couldn’t be more proud to bring that science directly into this new chapter for the store.
What Comes Next
We’re planning a grand reopening celebration in July, and we hope you’ll join us. But more importantly, I hope you’ll keep challenging us, asking tough questions, and helping us raise the bar in this industry…because that’s what got us here in the first place.
