The Big Miss: Is No-Hide® Actually Rawhide?
A ‘consumer advocate’ recently stirred up drama from July 2017 re-circulating an article (figure 1) claiming that Earth Animal No-Hide® treats were rawhide, again. This was on the heels of the announcement of a class-action lawsuit (figure 2) against Earth Animal Ventures (EAV) questioning the ingredients and sourcing of No-Hide® products. I didn’t think I would have to address this issue, but apparently, I do since misinformation and cherry-picked information from the original chain of events keeps circulating (if it’s on the internet it must be true, right?). Consumers and retailers alike need to see the situation for what it is, so I’ll also write this from both a retailer and consumer standpoint to provide the level of transparency I hold others to. As you read this, you’ll understand that both sides have significant issues. In fact, No-Hide® being (or not being) rawhide is hardly the issue. Instead there is a pervasive lack of transparency and misinformation from both the consumer advocate side and EAV.

Be Proactive for Your Pet’s Joints
/ Jenna HarrisonJoint health is a topic most pet owners don’t think about until their dog or cat has begun showing signs of pain or stiffness.
The truth is, once you start to notice signs that your pet is uncomfortable, the damage has already been done to the joint. It will take time (and a larger expense) to rebuild cartilage and try to reduce inflammation. Just like with planting a tree, the perfect time to start addressing joint health is yesterday. The second best time is today.
Enhance Your Pet’s Diet with Rotational Feeding
/ Nicole R. CammackVarying your pet’s diet – also known as “rotational feeding” – not only keeps your pet from becoming bored with his food but also may have significant health benefits. Believe it or not, many processed foods like kibble or canned foods may not actually be 100% complete and balanced – even if the packaging says it is.
Green-Lipped Mussels: A Natural Way to Improve Joint Health in Pets
/ Jenna HarrisonGreen-lipped mussels (GLMs) are perhaps nature’s best whole food source of nutrients to boost your pet’s joint health and mobility. They are shellfish sourced just off the coast of New Zealand, easily identified by the bright green stripe on the lip of the shell. While they offer a long list of benefits for your pet’s whole body health, they shine in their ability to relieve joint pain and stiffness.
Joint Health Solutions: Exploring Joint Supplements for Cats and Dogs
/ Jenna HarrisonJoint health is an important concern for pet owners, as joint problems can cause pain and decreased mobility in cats and dogs. Thankfully, there are a number of joint supplements that are designed to help improve joint health and reduce pain. These supplements typically contain one or more of the following ingredients: glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine HCl, chondroitin, MSM, and hyaluronic acid.
